The Command’s Gender Unit is currently investigating a case of alleged defilement involving Mr. Johnson Okon, 58 for sexually abusing his 14 years old daughter (names withheld) in Ikorodu area of Lagos.
According to the survivor, who reported her father, after the perpetrator, had sexually abused her, she reported to her mother. Her mother did not believe her and warned her to tell no one.
The survivor added that because of her mother’s inaction, she ran away from home and sought refuge in the home of her father’s friend.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, disclosed that the girl had been referred to Mirabel Centre for medical examination.
Oti added: “The Gender Unit of the State Command is currently investigating the case.”
