One Michael Chukwuemeka Chukem – working at Festac Town – will appear before the Tinubu Magistrate Court tomorrow May 9 for allegedly defiling five minors – her brother's daughter, brother-in-law's three daughters and a neighbour's daughter in Lagos.
The perpetrator and alleged paedophile was said to have denied all allegations the little girls levelled against him until medical evidence was brought.
He was accused of defiling and continuously having carnal knowledge of his brother’s daughter aged 11 and his wife’s brother’s three daughters (aged 10, six and four years old) alongside a neighbour’s five years old at Ikorodu and Oshodi areas of Lagos State.
According to the rescuer, a representative of Child Protection Network (CPN), Mrs. Mary-Anne, a single mother (Mrs. Delight) reported that her 11 years old daughter had been defiled by her brother-in-law.
“I couldn't afford to send my child to school. And since my brother-in-law said he needed assistance for his mum who lives in Ikorodu, and also promised to send her to school, I released my daughter to them last October. But she was not enrolled in any school,” the mother narrated.
Sadly, Mrs. Delight continued that her daughter came home on vacation and informed her of Uncle Michael's actions. “Michael worked in Festac and comes to Ikorodu every weekend. Each weekend, he would trap her and try to force his manhood into her.”
“My girl told me Uncle Michael would ‘pour something white on the floor’ then leave her alone. He did it to her every Saturday and Sunday,” she lamented.
According to her daughter’s confession, the bother-in-law would tell her that her cousin, ‘P' is more cooperative than she is, that P’s vagina was already open, and that she begged him for it everyday.
How sad. The single mother decried. “P is Michael’s wife’s niece. Michael lives in Festac with his wife's brother from Monday to Friday, and returns to Ikorodu on weekends. He sleeps in the sitting room with the three daughters of the wife's brother.
Unfortunately, the mother continued: “My daughter said Michael eventually penetrated her sometime in December.”
On how he was arrested, after the mother called help line of CPN Eti-Osa, the team said it tricked Michael into coming for a job interview and got policemen from Adeniji Adele to pick him up. “He vehemently denied the allegation and even threatened to sue us if he's found innocent”, Mary-Anne disclosed.
The alleged rapist, Michael, demanded for a DNA test. “He was quite full of himself. We took the 11 years old to Mirabel Centre where it was confirmed that there had been penetration, and the girl had got Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD).
Three more female victims discovered
It was on this confession of the 11 years old that the four other girls were discovered and rescued. The CPN Coordinator added: “My team and I have picked up the other cousins.
“The father, Mr. M. was most cooperative. Upon questioning the 10 years old, she told us that Michael had been disturbing her and her 6 years old sister, touching their private body parts every night while they slept in the sitting room, where he also slept.”
The 10 years old further informed CPN of a five year old neighbour, who comes to play at their house regularly. “He would sit TY on his laps and put his penis inside her.”
“Evidently, the three girls were taken to Mirabel Centre. It was found out that they have all been sexually penetrated. Little P later confessed that it was true; Michael had been having sex with her regularly. He she told anyone, he would use a knife to stab her at night when she was sleeping,” the rescuer said.
One more victim (4yrs old) surfaces
As experts in the field of child protection, the CPN team decided to examine the last baby of the house, four years old girl.
“Upon Mirabel examination of the last born, it was discovered he had tried to force himself into her vagina. He couldn’t as result shows bruises. So, the pervert concentrated on constantly penetrating her anus; thereby, resulting in a gross expansion of her anus,” CPN lamented.
Therefore, CPN calls for justice against “sick serial paedophile”.
The case is scheduled to hold tomorrow at the Tinubu Magistrate Court on Lagos Island, Lagos.
