Man Arrested for Defiling Infant

An Ifo  Magistrate Court Ogun State has, today, granted bail of N500,000 or two sureties with two landed properties each and be verified two years evidence of Tax clearance to 17 years old Azzez Abasi for brutally defiling physically challenged girl 20 times in four days. 

The perpetrator, of 18 Okaka Street Adiyan, was said to have committed the act between May 16 and 20 this year knowing that she was always home alone. 

UNICEF Pledges to End Violence against Children

The United Nation’s Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has stated its commitment to end violence against children in Nigeria through mobilisation of political will and resources to tackle all forms of violence against children wherever it happens.

It made this known in a media release on May 27 to mark World Children’s Day 2018 with the theme ‘Creating Safe Space for Children: Our collective Responsibility’.

Court Denies Rapist Brother-in-Law Bail

The Tibunu Magistrate Court on Wednesday denied Michael Chukwuemeka Chukem,  the brother-in-law who allegedly raped his four nieces and one neighbour in Lagos, bail.

He was arrested and charged to court this week for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his four little nieces and one neighbour’s daughter. The victims are aged: 11, 10, six, five and four. While one is his brother’s daughter, three are his wife’s elder brother’s.

From May 17 to 19, the International Federation of Fertility Societies (IFFS) in partnership with the Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH)  will hold the first ever fertility management workshop in the continent at the Radisson Blu at Victoria Island Lagos.

The workshop aims to improve professionalism in the field of fertility management in Nigeria. Also, it is to serve as a good training avenue for practitioners in the field and those who are interested in Assisted Reproductive Technique (ART). 

Brother-in-Law Defiles 4 Nieces, One Neighbour

One Michael Chukwuemeka Chukem – working at Festac Town – will appear before the Tinubu Magistrate Court tomorrow May 9 for allegedly defiling five minors – her brother's daughter, brother-in-law's three daughters and a neighbour's daughter in Lagos.

The perpetrator and alleged paedophile was said to have denied all allegations the little girls levelled against him until medical evidence was brought.

He was accused of defiling and continuously having carnal knowledge of his brother’s daughter aged 11 and his wife’s brother’s three daughters (aged 10, six and four years old) alongside a neighbour’s five years old at Ikorodu and Oshodi areas of Lagos State.

Lagos Police Arrests Mother for Burning Daughter’s Limbs

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 30 years old mother, Ayo Sheriff, for burning her 16-year-old daughter’s upper and lower right limbs with hot electric pressing iron.

Mrs. Sheriff, aged 30, was said to have reacted inhumanly after her daughter’s boss reported that she had stolen 500 naira. Stealing, she said, was a disgrace to their family.
