54 Years Old in Police Net for Defiling Age 11

The Onipanu Police of Lagos have arrested one Felix Irobuta Idehen, 54, for allegedly defiling 11 years old girl (names withheld) from 2016 to August 24 in Shomolu area of Lagos. 

Idehen, who resides at 8, Imagbon  street Fadeyi, was a transporter known as ‘Alaye’. has been arrested by policemen of Onipanu division for defiling the primary school pupil.

Imo Varsity Student Urgently Needs N10.5m for Kidney Transplant

Second year student of Imo State University, Odoh Uchenna, 22, cries out for N10.5 million financial assistant he urgently needs for his end-stage kidney transplant.

According to Uchenna, a first degree relative donor is available. All that is left is the finance to carry on the transplant at the St. Nicholas Hospital.

Lagos Police Haunt Woman over Physical Abuse, Death of 12 Years Old

The entire Lagos Police Force and Child Protection Network Lagos are haunting one Ada Samuel Onyengo following the brutal death and swift burial of 12 years old, Ifunnaya Ugueli last night in the home of her serial physical abuser. 


The late Ifunanya’s was a primary four pupil of Kusoru Primary School at Ilasamaja before her abrupt death on July 20. Onyengo was said to have constantly beaten her on her head with stirring stick locally called turning Eba.

Experts: Increase Contraceptives Use, Reduce Maternal Deaths by 50%

Medical experts have said that if the use of contraceptives methods is increased in Nigeria, the alarming maternal death rate of 576 will reduce by 50 per cent.

They said this at a media roundtable on the role of family planning in reducing Nigeria’s maternal deaths of 576 every 100,000 live births and its link with population explosion.

9 Years Old Burnt with Hot Knife as Punishment

A guardian, called mama David, is being hunted for inflicting injury on the left arm of nine years old David with a hot knife as punishment for buying biscuit with N50 he received as gift.

The little boy and pupil of Akoka primary school, who lived at 87, Finbarr's College road,  Bariga, has rashes like ringworm all over his head coupled with the injury on his left arm.

CPN, Alakara Rescue Teenage Girl from Rapist Brother-in-law in Lagos

The Child Protection Network, Lagos (CPN) and Alakara Homes have rescued 14 years old teenage girl (names withheld) from her elder sister’s husband, Mr. David Edward, 40, who raped her daily and inflicted injuries on her for exposing him. 

THISDAY gathered that Edward, who is currently on the run, subjected the primary 5 pupil to sexual abuse daily at their residence at 17 Folarin Street, Empire Surulere, Lagos.

Falana Calls for Better Healthcare for Nigerian Children

Human rights activist, Mr. Femi Falana, has called on the federal government to create an enabling environment for Nigerians, especially children in order for them to have good health and better lives.

He made this call in Lagos at the launch of Upright for Nigeria; Stand against Corruption Campaign, which the Centre for Communication and Social Impact organised in Lagos.
